Bankruptcy Paralegal (DFM #196)

Texas-based law firm in downtown Dallas is seeking a highly qualified Bankruptcy Paralegal to join their busy practice area!  Must be motivated and a detail-oriented self-starter and provide support to the Bankruptcy group and other attorneys throughout the firm.

 

Skills & Responsibilities:

-Handle all facets of bankruptcy cases, including client contact and attorney support.

-Analyze due diligence materials regarding all aspects of a company’s business operations.

-Prepare and file petitions, and perform legal research, on the Uniform Commercial Code.

-Conduct corporate background searches with the Secretary of State.

-Strong e-filing experience with the various courts.

-Experience with complex commercial Chapter 11 cases, debtor experience, committee experience, post-confirmation trustee experience, cash collateral disputes and prepared schedules of statements of financial affairs.

-Additional skills include experience with fee applications, complex objections to plans, and DIP motions.

-90% of the time is spent on complex Chapter 11 cases with 10% typically in workouts.

-The firm does not engage in consumer work.

-Must have bankruptcy experience in a law firm.

-Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe, Outlook, etc.

 

Qualifications:

-Minimum 5+ years of experience working on commercial bankruptcy matters as a Paralegal in Texas.

-Paralegal certification preferred; Bachelor’s degree also preferred but not required.

 

The firm provides a competitive benefit package along with beautiful offices in downtown Dallas.   Billable hours are 140/month.

 

Salary:  $80,000-95,000 DOE
