CLE & Training Specialist (DFM #606)

Well-known, international law firm in Uptown is seeking a CLE (Continuing Legal Education) and Training Specialist to join their team and support their Attorney Development (AD) Department!


This position is an exempt position responsible for managing certain specialized aspects of firm-wide attorney training, including but not limited to serving as a firm-wide CLE resource, supporting training initiatives and programs related to diversity and inclusion and assisting the Attorney Development department with all training programs and the associate evaluation process.  The is position reports to the Manager of Attorney Development and works closely with other attorneys engaged in training efforts, various committees of the firm, and the heads of the other administrative departments.


Essential Duties:

Programs and Training:

1. Act as CLE point person for training programs offered firm-wide, including pursuing CLE accreditation (including applications to jurisdictions where the firm is not an accredited provider) and coordinating all aspects of the related program, such as CLE-compliant materials, agendas, and sign-in sheets.  CLE program coordination may also include catering, set-up, technology, troubleshooting and post-program follow-up and evaluation.

2. Respond to inquiries related to CLE rules and compliance questions, including jurisdiction-specific questions, as well as attorney-specific requests for information.  Source and provide CLE opportunities upon request for attorneys to fulfill their compliance requirements.

3. Maintain the firm’s CLE records and accredited provider status, where available.  Maintain and utilize Micron, the firm’s CLE-tracking software, to ensure individual attorney CLE records are updated correctly.

4. Assist in collaborative efforts with our IT Training team to build and maintain a library of eLearning videos on a variety of topics relevant to the development of legal talent on both Micron and the firm’s UniversitySite LMS.


Alumni CLE:

5. Liaise with Alumni Manager on CLE offerings provided to firm alumni, including email follow-up with alums, technical assistance, etc.

6. Utilize Micron to upload and maintain the firm’s video CLE Library for offerings related to alumni initiatives.


Bar Licensure:

7. Work with the AD group on licensing questins related to lateral hires, bar exams, etc.  Track unlicensed attorneys and progress towards licensure, including seeking and providing regular updates on status.

8. Assist laterals with waiving-in questions, and provide administrative support when necessary, i.e., producing good standing certificates, etc.



Education & Knowledge:

-Candidate must have a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field, including but not limited to communications, management, business management, or organizational development and at least two years of CLE and training experience related to the legal/professional services industry.

-Experience in a law firm setting is strongly preferred and professional office experience is required.

-Knowledge and experience with CLE or similar accreditation rules is required.

-Texas, California, and New York State CLE knowledge is desirable.

-Experience with Micron (or comparable CLE-tracking software) is preferred.

-Experience with other Learning Management Systems (e.g. Cornerstone or UniversitySite) and the VI suite is desirable.

-Someone who is a member of ACLEA, PDC, and/or NALP is a plus!

Salary:  $60,000-70,000 DOE
