Lateral Recruiting and Integration Manager (DFM #628)

Texas-based law firm in downtown Dallas with offices in Dallas/Houston is seeking a Lateral Recruiting and Integration Manager (“LRI”)!

This position will oversee all aspects of attorney recruitment and integration for the Dallas and Houston offices.  The LRI Manager will optimize the firm’s hiring methodology, market presence and core relationships to maximize the firm’s ability to recruit the highest caliber candidates in strategically advantageous practice sectors, and will support all administrative department and practice group efforts to integrate new attorneys hired laterally and promoted internally.

The LRI Manager will also be in broader communication with other members of the Lateral Attorney Recruiting and integration teams while accomplishing these and other critical functions:

-As well as reporting to the COO and Director of HR, the LRI Manager will work closely with firm leaders involved in the recruitment of lateral candidates and the integration of new attorneys into the firm.

Essential Functions:

-Assisting with the development and implementation of a strategy to plan and manage the future growth of the Dallas and Houston offices through lateral attorney recruitment.

-Implementing such strategy by means of market mapping research, client-sourced intelligence, and external consultancies.

-Managing the relationship with search and contingent recruiters with respect to lateral attorney recruitment.

-Running the lateral attorney process for the Dallas/Houston office from start to finish, in conjunction with external consultants where appropriate, including arranging all interviews and tours, collating and disseminating feedback, and managing all steps in the hiring process with office, firm and practice leadership.

-Supporting the attorney recruitment process, including creating and communicating schedules, handling logistics and tracking feedback in a timely manner as needed.

-Drafting documentation and memoranda where appropriate.

-Liasing with candidates or their representative throughout the recruitment process, ensuring that they are kept fully informed and updated at every stage.

-Arranging in conjunction with the Dallas/Houston offices administrative teams, orientation and on-boarding for new attorneys.

-Developing, in conjunction with the relevant stakeholders, an integration strategy and roadmap for each lateral and newly hired lateral attorneys, including social and other firm culture-related functions, and regularly assessing progress, addressing issues and concerns and augmenting strategies as necessary.

-Maintaining a reliable organizational system to ensure data related to candidates is accessible and useful over the course of a candidate’s recruitment process.

-Preparing and communicating statistics, advertising information materials, and progress reports.

-Completing special projects as needed.

-Promoting effective work practices, working as a team member, and showing respect for co-workers.

As an LRI Manager, it is expected the candidate will apply their organizational and communication skills while displaying  a positive, high-energy attitude.  Must have exceptional organizational skills to manage time, prioritize and handle multiple deadlines, as well as well-developed and professional interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with and interact effectively with people at all organizational levels of the Firm.  The ability to develop a sophisticated understanding of the Firm’s various practice areas is desired, along with the ability to perceive and analyze complex problems, and a capacity to make or recommend sound decisions.  The successful Manager must be able to undertake large, long-term projects, develop alternative methods to complete them and implement solutions.

Qualifications:

-Bachelor’s degree required; graduate degree a plus!

-Minimum of Six Years of relevant professional experience including leadership or management experience required.

-Law firm or recruiting agency experience required.

-Strong interpersonal skills, charismatic and high energy level.

-Team leader, player and good collaborator.

-Strong oral and written communication skills.

-Ability to multi-task.

-Communicate effectively with practice group heads, team members, lawyers, search firms and others.

-Ability to work with vendors and negotiate best price.

-Ability to travel.
