High-profile, national law firm in Plano is seeking a highly competent Litigation Legal Assistant to support various attorneys in a busy litigation practice area! The position requires a confident, proactive professional with solid administrative experience. The ideal candidate will possess superb organizational skills, the ability to handle a multitude of tasks simultaneously, adapt quickly to meet deadlines and exercise independent judgment.
-Assists with litigation responsibilities (drafting/revising pleadings, motions, briefs, etc.)
-Manage incoming and outgoing electronic communications (including telephone, email and fax)
-E-filing with the various courts
-Computer proficiency (Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Outlook)
-Law firm experience preferred
-Interact with staff and attorneys at all levels in a fast-paced environment, sometimes under pressure, remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful and efficient
-Review and submit conflict conflict checks, new clients and client matters
-Partner with accounting to ensure accuracy in billing pursuant to client requirements; perform pre-bill edits, prepare invoices for payment as requested by timekeepers
-Coordinate travel arrangements and prepare itineraries
-Tracks and reports CLE hours for assigned attorneys
-Type, format, edit, and save documents in document management system
-Assist with preparing, drafting, and proofreading documents, including cross-referencing, and running document comparisons
-Schedule and coordinate conference rooms including hospitality, facility and technology needs
-Organize, analyze, and identify relevant judicial decisions, statutes, legal articles, codes and other pertinent materials from various jurisdictions.
-Provide event planning and coordination support as needed.
-Has gained proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the job.
-4-10 years prior experience in a litigation practice area
-Excellent oral and written communication skills, excellent organizational abilities, strong analytical and problem solving skills, and proactive business style required
-Advanced skills with Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint)
-Typing speed of 60 wpm
The firm offers a 37.5 hour work week, parking, paid OT, etc. in beautiful offices!
This is a hybrid position-3 days in the office and 2 days remote!
