Global, international law firm is seeking a Proposal Writer!


GENERAL SUMMARY: Under the general supervision and direction of the Proposal Manager, the Proposal Writer is responsible for assisting with proposal opportunities, including writing, editing and proofreading. Additional core duties may include writing and editing practice and industry descriptions and bios on the firm’s website and assisting with reporting of opportunities to firm leadership. The Proposal Writer is expected to perform all responsibilities with a commitment to providing superior service to the firm’s clients, attorneys, advisors and staff, efficient and effective departmental operations, and an atmosphere of teamwork and continuous improvement. Above all, the Proposal Writer must fulfill the needs of the firm in a manner which is consistent with the Firm’s Core Values.


  • Write and edit responses to Request for Proposals (RFPs) with the guidance of the Proposal Manager
  • Use proposal generation technology tool (Proposal Pilot) to develop high-impact, new business proposals reflecting the Firm’s brand identity, messaging and positioning within tight deadlines
  • Communicate and collaborate directly with Business Development team members, lawyers and other stakeholders in connection with proposals and related business development projects
  • Create daily, weekly and monthly reports demonstrating Firm’s proposal statistics
  • Monitor content contained in Firm’s proposal system and on website for voice/tense consistency, grammar issues and style guidelines and make recommendations to improve copy


  • Exceptional writing capabilities, including advanced grammar and proofreading skills
  • Ability to create concise narrative copy from a bulleted list or abstract ideas
  • Strong project management skills, especially as relate to RFPs and proposals
  • An understanding of litigation matters is a plus
  • Be a creative, results-driven self-starter with stellar written communication skills and an emphasis on client service
  • Strong computer skills including advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint are essential; knowledge of InterAction preferred
  • Ability to prioritize workload, handle several projects at once, work independently, and complete tasks under time pressure, as necessary
  • Ability to read, write and speak English

  • Bachelor’s degree required preferably in English, Communications or Marketing
  • At least five years’ writing experience in a professional services environment required
  • Previous law firm experience preferred

Salary:  $80,000-90,000+ DOE
