Commercial Real Estate Attorney (DFM #556)

High-profile law firm is seeking a Senior Commercial Real Estate Attorney to join their team!  Must be able to independently manage sophisticated real estate transactions without supervision.  This attorney will provide support to the real estate group and other attorneys throughout the Firm.

Essential Duties, Responsibilities and Requirements:

-Drafting, reviewing, analyzing, revising and negotiating legal documents

-Substantial experience in commercial real estate development, leasing, acquisition and investment projects (Development, entity structuring and financing experience is important.)

-Timeliness in responding to client needs and turning documents promptly

-Respect cultural differences and possess ability to explain fundamental real estate law and real estate industry practices in simple terms to international clients new to the U.S. real estate market

-Consistent follow-through and ability and flexibility to multi-task and effectively balance priorities and meet tight deadlines

-Ability and willingness to train younger real estate associates and paralegals

-Draft, review, analyze, revise and negotiate legal documents (purchase and sale agreements, leases, deeds of trust, etc.

-Ability to effectively communicate with clients, opposing counsel, third parties, etc

-Highly organized and maintain electronic and hardcopy matter files

-Log and submit matter time and expense billing for matter files

-Provide frequent status updates  to supervising attorneys and clients

-Excellent communication skills and collaborate well with everyone the attorney comes in contact with

-Superior problem solving ability

-Maintain competency through seminars, workshops and professional affiliations to stay abreast of latest developments and CLE requirements

Qualifications:

-GPA in top 33%

-Must be licensed in Texas and in good standing with the Texas State Bar Association

-Minimum of Five years (5+) of real estate experience, with specific experience in retail and commercial leasing required

-Must know all aspects of real estate law

-Excellent legal writing skills

-Exceptional computer skills and proficiency with all Microsoft Office products

-Experience with various practice and matter management databases (iManage) and timekeeping and billing systems

-Excellent communication skills

-Maintain confidentiality

-Able to work additional hours and weekends when needed
