Senior Commercial Real Estate Attorney (DFM #829)

High-profile, Texas-based law firm in downtown Dallas is seeking a very Senior Commercial Real Estate Attorney to work with various partners in a very busy real estate practice area!  The Senior Commercial Real Estate Attorney must be able to independently manage sophisticated real estate transactions without supervision, including complex commercial leasing transactions.  The attorney will provide support to the Real Estate Practice Group.  The responsibilities include drafting, reviewing, analyzing, revising and negotiating commercial real estate agreements, including leases, ground leases, loan documents and entity documents.  As a member of their team, the attorney will be surrounded by exceptionally talented, bright, good natured and passionate people.  This attorney will work in a high-energy and professional environment and be a part of a culture centered on the clients the firm serves.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

-Commercial real estate background with acquisition, financing, development, leasing and disposition of commercial real estate.

-Background with various projects to include:  subdivisions, apartment complexes, shopping centers, hotels, assisted living facilities, office buildings, warehouses, and mixed-use facilities.

-Projects ranging in size from several million dollars on up!

-Experience with developing a very large portfolio of active real estate and corporate clients.

-Real estate background to encompass title and survey, real estate developers, raw land, contracts, agreements, amendments, leasing, due diligence, etc.

-Substantial experience in commercial real estate development, leasing, acquisition, disposition and investment projects.  Development, complex leasing, entity structuring and financing experience is important.

-Experience  advising overseas companies domestically in commercial real estate development and investments, M&A’s,  corporate finance, joint venture negotiations and commercial disputes is a plus!

-Excellent drafting a variety of legal documents and research skill set is needed.

-Large law firm background is preferred.

-Excellent communication skills relating to various clients on all levels.

-Time management and detail-oriented skills required for this role.

-Must be able to independently manage sophisticated real estate transactions without supervision.

-Consistent follow-through and ability and flexibility to multi-task and effectively balance priorities and meet tight deadlines.

-Superior problem solving ability.

-Maintain competency through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep current on latest developments and CLE requirements.

 

Qualifications:

-Large law firm experience is preferred.

-Must be licensed to practice in Texas and in good sanding with the Texas State Bar Association.  The firm will consider candidates that are not licensed in Texas, but have registered to take the Texas Bar.

-At least Eight (8+) years in commercial real estate experience, with specific experience in commercial leasing required.

-Excellent client communication skills.

-Must have excellent legal writing skills.

-Strong work ethic.

-Exceptional computer skills and proficiency using Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/Outlook/PowerPoint/Adobe, etc.).

-Exceptional communication, writing, client service, confidentiality, organizational, time management and detail-oriented skills.

-Position is “Director-track” with significant responsibility and long term professional growth opportunities, requiring an innovative, quick thinker desiring to become a preeminent practitioner.

-Billable Hours:  1850-2000/yr.
