Job Description:

High-profile litigation defense law firm with offices in Dallas and Austin is seeking a highly-qualified Litigation Paralegal (preferably with Insurance Defense) to join their busy team near North Park! For 30 years, the firm has been known for fast and focused conflict resolution. This position will support a very busy Partner and his team of 3 attorneys and work alongside two other paralegals.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Prepare form/draft Discovery Requests, Responses and Supplements and Expert Designations
Prepare simple Pleadings (proposed orders, scheduling orders, etc.)
Prepare Notices to Produce
Prepare Notices of Deposition, Records Subpoenas and follow-up
Review and Summarize Employment Records and Medical Records
Prepare Trial Notebooks
Prepare certified mailings of Discovery/Pleadings
Excellent legal internet research regarding background investigations for information on witnesses and parties
Work with Experts during entire case and maintain records of what has been sent to or received from experts
Able to enter own time in Firm billing system
Other duties as assigned by attorneys, Executive Director, and/or HR Manager

Qualifications:

Experience in litigation preferably in insurance defense
Excellent drafting skills (discovery, pleadings, motions, etc.)
Experience supporting partners/associates in a busy law firm setting
Must have at least 5+ years of litigation experience
Bachelor’s degree and/or Paralegal Certificate highly preferred
Preparing for trial and attendance
Must have good work tenure and strong litigation skills

Compensation & Benefits:

The firm provides an excellent compensation package along with paid parking. Billable hours are 140/month. This position is on-site.
