Job Description:

Leading Texas-based law firm is seeking a highly qualified Commercial Litigation Legal Assistant to provide legal and administrative support to various partners and associates in a very busy practice area.   This position is onsite in their Dallas office.  These attorneys are seeking someone who loves to collaborate with the other staff, takes initiative, and deadline-oriented.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Will provide litigation and administrative support to attorneys.
  • Prepare and edit legal documents and correspondence (pleadings, motions, subpoenas, and discovery materials), excellent proofreading skills, and deadline intensive.
  • File documents in state and federal courts.
  • Enter attorney time; review and revise timesheets accurately.
  • Prepare and maintain case calendars, tracking important deadlines and court dates for attorneys.
  • Schedule and  coordinate meetings; interact with clients and other contacts.
  • Coordinate business travel arrangements.
  • Responsible for monthly billing using Coyote.
  • Proficiency with cloud based DMS, preferably Netdocs.
  • STRONG word processing skills (Microsoft Office-Word/Excel/Power Point).
  • Experience with Table of Contents, Table of Authority, and Redlining/Document Compare.
  • Assist in preparing and organizing trial materials, including exhibits, witness lists, and trial binders.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2- 3+ years of litigation experience within a law firm preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS office Suite.
  • Strong working knowledge of document management systems.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills with a high degree of professionalism.
  • Familiarity with legal research tools (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis).
  • Knowledge of federal and state court rules and procedures.
  • Flexibility to work overtime as needed.

Compensation & Benefits:

The firm provides a comprehensive benefit package, 401(k), PTO, etc.  40 hour work week.

Salary:  $80,000-85,000
