Job Description:

High-profile, well-known Municipal Law Firm with extensive experience providing legal services to public and private clients throughout the state, is seeking a Senior Municipal Litigation Attorney to join their busy practice in North Dallas.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for providing high level legal analysis with respect to complex procedural and strategic issues in state and federal court.
  • Drafting and reviewing pleadings, motions, and discovery as to form and procedural content, preparing procedural road maps for upcoming court filings, advising attorneys and clients on all matters of court rules, civil procedure, filing protocol, and the calculation of deadlines, and attend hearings and meet with clients.
  • Independently manage a litigation caseload, working cases from beginning to end.
  • Regularly handling court appearances and depositions.
  • Overseeing and performing calendaring functions related to litigation deadlines for all contested matters and regularly commuting deadlines to attorneys.
  • Research and retrieval of court documents, reviewing and filing of clients and Firm court documents.
  • Areas of practice:  litigation and appellate, civil rights, constitutional law, municipal land use, zoning and ordinance defense, housing discrimination, employment law, personal injury, and construction law.

Qualifications:

  • J.D. Degree from an ABA accredited law school
  • Current Texas Bar Admission
  • Trial experience
  • Experience as a practicing litigation attorney or an attorney currently employed in a city or county government court environment within a law firm.

Compensation & Benefits:

The firm provides a very comprehensive benefit package along with a Competitive salary.  Billable hours are 160-170/month.
